“Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within. I use the word "love" here not merely in the personal sense but as a state of being, or a state of grace - not in the infantile American sense of being made happy but in the tough and universal sense of quest and daring and growth.” — James Baldwin, The Fire Next Time

I’m Cat H. Bradley--a Brooklyn girl born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan (Go Blue!). I’m a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and near daily practitioner of the 26&2 method (sometimes formerly but still mostly known as Bikram Yoga). I’m also a writer, a marathoner, and a JRNI certified Life Coach who specializes in working with athletes and athlete minded people. (Don’t think you’re either of these? Read on, we definitely need to work together!)

I grew up in a family that valued athletics as much as academics. I was raised with the understanding that sport could help harness the discipline, work ethic, and even intellectual development needed for every stage of life. As a competitive volleyball and basketball player in my youth, I learned that I could accomplish more when I worked with others, and that being a part of a team was nourishing, uplifting, and esteem building in a way that few other things are.

As an adult athlete with a focus on yoga and running, I’ve come to understand the necessity and vitality of MOVEMENT—how it is the bridge that connects our mind and our spirit and allows for the integration of all parts of our self. I’ve experienced first hand, more than once, the power that is cultivated when discipline and perseverance meet real gratification, awareness, and love. When you put in the work, create with consciousness, and have true passion for what you’re doing, anything is possible.

I believe willingness, vulnerability, connection, and gratitude are the keys to a life of freedom and joy. If we dare to add curiosity and discipline to these, we unlock our full tool-chest and are able to access and engage our complete strength. Our capacity to change the world and ourselves is greater than you might be able to imagine. I am here because I envision that possibility--I see it already, for others, and for myself. All of the ignorance and revelation, failure and redemption, and heartbreak and elation I’ve experienced so far in this life have emboldened me. Humbly, I am here to help nurture the soul, ignite the mind, and light the path for the ones that may be great.

The light in me honors the light in you.
